I haven't treated it until now. I went to the doctor & they gave me three lamisil tablets to put in an over the counter anti-fungal liquid called fungoid. You crush the tablets into it & let it sit for 24 hours then you apply it twice daily. I'm embarrassed to wear sandals & open toed shoes because of it, and its on my big toe. The medication actually does work, I've been using it for two weeks & it is already showing an improvement.
